A public computational research laboratory

Adjacency Theory is a research programme with a build specification, a version registry and a public ledger — not a belief system and not a UFO site.

Mission

We are investigating whether the separation we experience as spatial distance could be a derived property of a deeper relational structure — and what mathematical, causal and energetic conditions would have to hold before that question could even become physically meaningful.

The programme starts by reproducing known mathematics. New hypotheses come second. An unmodelled quantity is never labelled a successful physical result.

Method

  1. 1. Specify. Every model implements a common adapter interface with a frozen result contract.
  2. 2. Seed. Every run stores its exact seed, algorithm version, model version and parameter object.
  3. 3. Constrain. Causality, energy conditions, metric validity and numerical stability are evaluated separately from the result itself.
  4. 4. Challenge. Any apparent structure is compared against a shuffled null model before it is described as structure.
  5. 5. Publish. Results go to the ledger whether they support the hypothesis or not.

What success means

The success criterion for this project is not to prove the theory. It is to make the theory precise enough that mathematics and experiment can prove parts of it wrong.
