Seed 425. A ring with strictly local propagation, and an observation map that cuts the ring and unrolls it flat. Two microscopic neighbours across the cut read as N−1 apart, so leverage grows like N and the map has no uniform smoothness bound at all. That is a genuine counterexample to one hypothesis of the sharpened theorem — and, once audited, a trick of the drawing.

The cut — ring unrolled into a line
A and B are nearest neighbours on the ring: one edge, one step of influence. Cut the ring next to them and lay it flat, and the same two sites read as N−1 apart. Nothing moved, nothing was built, nothing was paid for.
