Phase 57 · the spark caught · AT-0509 → AT-0520

Today the spark did not die

Seed 509. We resumed at exactly one substrate, one frozen law, two causal phases — and replaced yesterday's excitable rule, whose front was guaranteed by its own threshold, with a cooperative activator/recovery law in which recruitment is a genuine outcome that can fail. It fails for 39 of 54 parameter families. One survivor, held frozen at every size, recruited the entire toy network from a single one-node seed and then put itself back to sleep with no external reset. Random jitter never triggered it once in seventy-two runs; a deliberate seed had to clear a finite amplitude threshold before it caught. That is the first autonomous nucleation gate this programme has passed. It is one gate out of eight, nothing has been carried through the phase, and the energy bill has not even been opened.
